There are many groups and clubs that use the Country park as well as many organised events throughout the year. This list is continually updated as activities and events are arranged so why not bookmark this page. And don’t forget…You can get the Southwater Lake watercraft permits from Southwater Watersports Reception or online when available.
- A Day permit costs £20 and can only be purchased when the Watersports Centre is open
- If you have an inflatable craft email the make and modal for approval before buying a permit as some are not suitable to be used on Southwater Lake
- If you purchase a yearly Off Peak Permit please can you email or bring a copy of your third party insurance or a British Canoeing membership card (for Kayaking, Canoeing or Stand up paddle boarding) or Royal Yachting Association membership card (for Sailing or Windsurfing) which gives you gives you third party insurance as part of the package when applying for a permit.
- If you purchse a yearly Off Peak Permit and Southwater Watersports is not open please do not climb the gate. Either walk round to the opening to the left of the slipway or if the cafe is open ask to borrow the key and unlock the gate
- Please do not have any picnics past the Slipway gates as there is only room for craft Launching
- All permit holders please Launch from the slipway area do not use the floating pontoon or the Watersports Hire area

OFF PEAK means the Watersports Centre is shut
- If you have an OFK PEAK Permit and you come when the Watersports is OPEN it costs £10 to Launch your craft
- GROUP Pemits run from 1st January for 1 year

Lake User Events for 2022
22 May: Guide Regatta (Southwater Girl Guides) The lake is closed to users until 1pm, but the park is open to all other users
25 June: 1st ST Leonards Forest Scouts Paddling event. The Lake will be busy on the water but other users are welcome, The Park is Open all day to Visitors
26 June: Brownie regatta (Southwater Girl Guides) The lake is closed to users until 1pm but the park is open to all other users
3/4 July: 8 Worthing Kayaking Taster day 10am to 4pm( Run by 8 WorthingScouts) Park is still open to all visitors. The Lake is Open all day to Users
9 July : Worthing District Raft Race (Worthing District Scouts + Southwater Watersports) The lake will be busy but the Lake and the Country Park is open to everybody
TBC: Southwater Modal Boat display day, no other users on the lake, The Park is still open for the general public
3rd Sept: Carpark Transition set up Day for Triathlon on Sunday(Amphibians Tri Club) Park is still open to all visitors. The Lake is Open all day to Users
4th Sept: Southwater Triathlon Relay(Amphibians Tri Club)(No other users please, 1pm finish approx)
Sept 11th: Raft Race (Mid Sussex and Southwater Watersports)(Lake Will be busy but other users welcome on the water) The Park is Open all day to Visitors
